The New Jersey based company has settled with the Government in the face of two whistleblower cases filed against it. The company was accused of filing false claims to the Government in addition to soliciting and accepting kickbacks from pharmaceutical manufacturers and health plans to obtain business. Medco allegedly cancelled valid prescriptions, shorted pills, and when filling prescriptions, used drugs other than those prescribed by physicians to earn rebates from drug manufacturers.
